How to deliver an easy to use app for welding professionals to use while working

SSAB is a global steel company with a leading position in high-strength steels and related services. SSAB manufactures and sales different steel products that their customers use for buildings and large constructions.

These steel components have uniq qualities that need to be taken into consideration while welding parts together. These qualities are listed in PDF and other digital formats on their databases.

The welders were in need for a solution that would allow them to easily access this data while working on a specific steel structure.

After a rapid service design workshop the client decided that a solution with QR stickers added to the steel components would be a sufficient solution for the welders to gain access to the data needed.

A Progressive Web App with QR code reader and connected to SSAB identification solution

The deliverable of the project was a PWA application that used SSAB Keycloack identification solution as an authentication method. With a scanned QR code the app fetched selected data from the SSAB database and provided needed information to the user.
